Jawara Alleyne is an interdisciplinary artist, creative director and educator whose work is rooted in identity.Alleyne graduated with a Masters in Design from Central Saint Martins in 2020 and in 2021 launched his brand under the Fashion East initiative. His AW'24 collection "Eye of the Storm" is inspired by cultures facing constant hurricanes, focusing on the themes of resilience and beauty amidst chaos. It reflects broader societal changes and challenges, proposing a way to find calm within disorder. For the occasion, I was invited to shoot backstage by the designer, focusing on capturing the preparation of the show whilst encapsulating the chaos, reminescent of the theme of the collection.
